Acceptable Use Policy

Last updated: 11 July 2026

Use LessonBrief for legitimate tutoring admin, keep children's data to initials only, and do not try to break or misuse the service. This policy forms part of our Terms.

Purpose

This Acceptable Use Policy explains what you may and may not do with LessonBrief. It forms part of our Terms of Service. We keep it short and practical: use the service for legitimate tutoring administration, keep children's data minimal, and do not try to break or misuse it.

What the service is for

The service is for adult tutors and small education providers to turn their own lesson notes into draft messages and documents. Every draft is for you to review and edit before you send it.

Data you must not enter

To protect the young people you work with, you must not enter:

  • A child's full name — use initials or a nickname instead.
  • Health information, medical details, or a diagnosis or special-educational-needs assessment.
  • Contact details for a child or family — phone numbers, email or home addresses, or social handles.
  • Other special-category or high-risk data — for example religion, ethnicity, immigration status, financial details, or safeguarding allegations.

Things you must not do

  • Use the service for anything unlawful, or to create content that is defamatory, harassing, hateful, or otherwise harmful.
  • Infringe anyone's intellectual-property, privacy or other rights.
  • Try to access another user's account or data, or defeat, probe or bypass our security, rate limits or bot-protection.
  • Scan, scrape, overload, or place excessive automated load on the service, or use bots except where we expressly allow it.
  • Copy, resell, sublicense, reverse-engineer or create a competing product from the service or its templates.
  • Upload malware, or interfere with the service's normal operation or other users' use of it.
  • Impersonate anyone, or misrepresent your connection to a person or organisation.

Content standards

You are responsible for the content you enter and for every message you send using a draft. Always read a draft, correct any mistakes, and make sure it is accurate, appropriate and lawful before you send or share it.

Reporting misuse, and enforcement

If you see something that breaks this policy, tell us at lessonbrief@proton.me. If you break this policy we may remove content, and suspend or close your account; where it is reasonable to do so, we will give you notice and a chance to put things right first. Serious or repeated breaches may be reported to the authorities.

Changes and contact

We may update this policy as the service develops; the date above shows the latest version. Questions? Email us at lessonbrief@proton.me.
